Petane Merlot Franc 2021

Handpicked from the hills in Esk Valley, this wine was fermented in open top vats then aged in French oak barrels (20% new) for 20 months.

This classic Bordeaux blend is a generous, bold, full bodied Merlot/Franc
with moderate acidity and fine, supple tannins. With 17% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, dark fruit flavours of plum and wild blackberry meld with green pepper and mocha on the palate. Vibrant and fruit forward, this Merlot dominant blend will acquire gamey, bacon and dried herb complexity with careful cellaring for 10+ years.
